All we ask is that if you do upload any photos, please keep the file sizes of each photo below 500 kilobytes, and less than 1024 pixels wide. (i.e A Digital camera on high setting may create a photo at 1600 Kilobytes (1.6MB) in file size, and maybe 2048 pixels wide or more. That photo has to be resized and saved as a jpg PRIOR to you uploading it on our system.) Keep in mind that you should always backup your own digital photos, especially if you are resizing, etc, as to not lose the originals!
Any photos or media uploaded HAS to be approved by the webmaster BEFORE they are displayed on the site, so it may take a few days before your uploaded photo(s) appear in our gallery. Also, if you receive a blank screen, or an error, or a timeout while you are uploading your photo(s), you have either tried to upload a file that is too large, or, if you are using dial-up internet, a timeout has occured. Simply try again, or email your photos to us for inclusion. We hold the right to deny any photos that are deemed inappropriate.
The main attraction! The Matthew! The ship that sailed from Bristol, England in 1497 and again in 1997. This is our recreation, our Matthew, a 100% exact replica built in Bonavista by the people of Bonavista. We take pride in our history.
The building that houses it all from the Matthew in the off-season, to the interpretation centre, coffee shop, and gift store! These are photos both inside and out of the legacy building area.
Here is YOUR gallery. You can add your own photos right here if you wish. Simply register for an account above, and you can immediatly start adding your own media to this gallery of the Matthew, the legacy building, and any special events associated with it.
